Two Barcelona youngsters could miss out on Europa League registration for Barcelona

With the deadline for the submission of the final squad list for the UEFA Europa League fast approaching, Barcelona have a major decision to make in the coming days.

According to UEFA rules, only three new names can be added to the list that was submitted for the first half of the competition. And, as per SPORT, two of those three slots will be taken up by new signings Ferran Torres and Dani Alves.

This leaves the Blaugrana with just one slot to fill and two talented youngsters, Ferran Jutgla and Ez Abde, vying for it.

Jutgla has been in impressive form, scoring a couple of important goals for the club that has helped him earn the faith of manager Xavi Hernandez. The 22-year-old also adds value with his versatile nature, as he can play out wide or as a centre-forward.

But, Abde has displayed that he can be a menace operating on the flanks and with Ansu Fati sidelined for the foreseeable future, a dynamic presence like the Moroccan can come in handy for Barça.

If the Catalan giants end up signing a new player altogether – Alvaro Morata remains very much on the agenda – he will take up the third slot, which would mean both Jutgla and Abde will miss out of the Europa League squad.

Xavi: 'We’ll learn from the mistakes and try again'

But in case Barcelona fail to sign anyone, Xavi will have to pick between the two talented youngsters as the Blaugrana look to go all the way in the secondary continental competition following their group-stage exit from the Champions League.
