IGP orders arrest, prosecution of naira sellers

The Inspector General Of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba has mandated the arrest of anyone found to be selling or abusing the naira.

The Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) deputy inspector general of police and the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB assistant inspector general of police) were given orders to put their officers on “high alert” by the IGP on Friday.

 

According to him, criminal charges should be brought against anyone found selling or misusing naira notes that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has issued.
