The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has disclosed that there are many fraudulent ways traders and other members of the public can be defrauded online.

The commission advised traders to beware of various online tactics aimed at defrauding them.

The commission made these disclosures during its telecom consumers sensitization program themed “ “Shine Your Eyes- No Fall Mugu,

The event which was held at Araromi spare parts market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, had market leaders, NCC officials and representatives of telecoms providers, security agencies and journalists in attendance.

Head of Consumer Affairs Bureau of NCC, Mr. Banji Ojo, while addressing the traders said that there are many ways people can be defrauded online or through telephone conversations.

He advised the traders to be wary of applications they downland and people they communicate with online.

He said the sensitisation became necessary given the various cases of fraudulent activities aimed at defrauding members of the public online by hackers and fraudsters.

There are many ways to defraud you online. Do not open applications you don’t know. Do not give your password to anyone, even your children.

It is dangerous to share your information with someone you don’t trust online.

That is why we are saying that open your eyes and shine your face. No bank will call you to ask you to reveal your bank details on the phone.

President of the Ibadan Motor Parts Dealers Association, Olanrewaju Maruf Ishola in his remarks, thanked the commission for bringing such an educative program to the market.

This program is very important. As you can see, our people came out in their numbers to attend. They have listened and have learnt a lot.

We love the program. It is very helpful. We want to thank the NCC for bringing it to our doorstep. We look forward to having more programs of this kind.

Famous Nigerian afrobeats singer David Adeleke, professionally known by his stage name Davido, is celebrating 12 years of releasing his first debut song, Back When.

Recall that the hit song Back When, which featured Naeto C, marked his breakthrough in the entertainment industry.

It’s been 12 years since he released the song.

Expressing gratitude to God for the 12-year journey, Davido, in a post shared on his Twitter handle, described himself as God’s child.

Popular American rapper, Aubrey Drake Graham, AKA Drake has claimed he may be Nigerian following the outcome of a recent ancestry test by his family.

Drake, an American music star, is estimated to have a net worth of $250 million and reportedly receives $70 million yearly, as returns.

Sharing his Dad’s ancestry results on social media, Drake revealed he is 30% Nigerian.

He made the disclosure on Sunday in a post on his Instagram page.

He wrote, This is my dad’s results, does this mean I’m a Naija man finally?.

Drake is not the first foreign superstar to claim Nigerian roots. Beyoncé, SZA, Diddy and a host of others have claimed their ancestors were from Nigeria in the past.

Last year, Rihanna claimed her ancestors were Igbo. She later explained that she didn’t mention Nigeria because the country was nonexistent at the time her ancestors left the shores of Igboland.

Curvy Nigerian socialite, Roman Goddess, has revealed that her physical endowments have afforded her a lot of great opportunities.

She said she does not regret undergoing surgeries to enhance her beauty, adding that her bodily endowment has opened a lot of doors for her.

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, has said politicians should be sworn in using African deities like Amadioha and Ogun.

Ibegbu said using African deities to swear in politicians would prevent them from looting the government’s treasury while in office.

The public affairs analyst urged the National Assembly to enact laws that would permit politicians to be sworn in using African deities.

According to Ibegbu, I advocate that all political office holders in Nigeria be sworn into office using Africa Oaths with our deities.

Politicians are no longer afraid of the Bible and Koran and should be sworn in with African deities to instil fear and honesty in them. Unless this is done, our politicians will continue to loot us dry and mess up our lives.

Politicians should swear with Amadioha, Ogun, Chockonoze, they will think twice before looting our patrimony. We, therefore, call on the National Assembly to pass a law to that effect immediately.

Ibegbu also called for the abolition of security votes, adding that the “immunity clause and full-time national and state legislature, at Nigeria’s cost is inhumane and outrageous.

The Supreme Court on Monday fixed  May 9, to deliver its judgment in the disputed July 16 governorship election in Osun State.

The apex court fixed the 24-hour period for the judgment delivery after taking arguments from parties involved in the matter.

At the centre of the disputed election is the incumbent Governor Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, who stood for the poll on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Adegboyega Oyetola who was the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate.

However, while Oyetola is the appellant in the Supreme Court matter, having lost at the Court of Appeal, Adeleke is the major respondent who won the Court of Appeal decision.

The Supreme Court will deliver the final verdict by 2 pm on May 9.

At today’s proceedings, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN argued for the APC.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had on Friday, March 24, vacated the tribunal judgment that nullified the election of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.

The appellate court, in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of Justices, held that the appeal Adeleke lodged to challenge his sack by the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal was meritorious.

Aside from setting aside the judgment of the tribunal, the court, in its lead judgment that was delivered by Justice Mohammed Lawal, awarded N500,000 cost against the All Progressive Congress, APC, and its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.

An aide to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Daniel Bwala, said President-elect Bola Tinubu has dropped certain nominees considered for appointment.

The presidential election petition tribunal has adjourned its sitting to Wednesday, May 10, matters brought before it challenging the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

After a brief pre-hearing trial, the case was adjourned to Wednesday, 10th May 2023 at 2 pm prompt, Okonkwo wrote.
