Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has revealed that God has been sending “a lot of problems” to him.

He disclosed this while chatting with legendary musician 2Face Idibia recently.

The duo were spotted hanging out in a video making the rounds on the internet.

In the video, the singer asked Sabinus why he likes “problems too much.”

Responding, Sabinus said that without problems, he wouldn’t be able to make money. He said that is the reason God keeps sending problems his way.

He, however, clarified that the problems are just online (in his comedy skits) and not in real life.

Sabinus said: Boss, you know, say if I no enter problem, money no go come. So, God has been sending problems my way—online o, not offline o [laughs].

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Temz, has beaten American female music stars to a new record on the Billboard chart.

The Nigerian achieved the rare feat after her song ‘Free Mind’ broke the record for longest running number one by a female artist in Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart history.

The song maintained its position at number one on the chart this week, making it a total of 17 weeks at peak, which is a record by any female artiste.

The song debuted on the main chart, Billboard Hot 100 last year, making Tems the first Nigerian female soloist to appear as a lead on the chart.

‘Free Mind, which is off Tems’ debut Extended Play (EP) has earned millions of streams in the United States across major digital streaming platforms.

The Zamfara State Police Command said it is determined to rescue all kidnapped victims and reunite them with their families without paying a dime as ransom in its ongoing efforts to restore normalcy in the state.

This was revealed in a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Mohammed Bunu by the newly appointed Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar.

According to the statement, on May 18, 2023, at about 11 pm, 10 people kidnapped from Gidan Gobirawa village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area were rescued by police tactical operatives on search-and-rescue operations along a forest under Birnin Magaji Local Government Area.

The victims said they had been in captivity since May 7, 2023, when bandits abducted them to an unknown destination.

The statement affirmed, The rescued victims were checked by police medical doctors, debriefed, and handed over to their respective families.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, on Thursday, visited the motorcycle rider assaulted by some officers.

A viral video showed the security personnel beating the okada man near the bridge at the Abule Egba area of Lagos.

One repeatedly hit the victim with his baton while another pushed him away as he tried to prevent them from seizing his bike.

The citizen sustained an injury to his forehead where blood gushed out from but the officers ignored him.

The third policeman eventually rode away on the motorcycle while the two others left the scene in a tricycle (keke).

During his visit, CP Owohunwa condemned the incident and informed the public that disciplinary actions had been taken.

The police in Ogun State have reacted to a viral video in which officers were accused of causing a road crash while chasing some suspected internet fraudsters in Igbeba area of Ijebu-Ode.

In a statement on Thursday, the Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said a Toyota Camry car driven by a mechanic, with registration number LSR 59 HS, had on May 17 knocked down a commercial motorcyclist, Ganiyu Musiliu, while on high speed.

Instead of the driver to stop and take care of the seriously injured okada rider, Oyeyemi said he ran away.

According to him, the vehicle was being pursued by some eyewitnesses, adding that the police patrol team from Igbeba division, stationed along Molipa road was alerted about the car coming towards their end.

He stated, The patrol team, having sighted the car, tried to block it from escaping and that resulted in the accident.

He explained that some miscreants at the scene, who were ignorant of the reason for blocking the car by the policemen, made an attempt to attack the policemen, saying they were dispersed by the DPO of Obalende and his men, who he said raced to the scene.

The injured Okada man was rushed to State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode and the driver was arrested.

He expressed surprises to read on social media that the policemen were chasing the car because they thought the rider was a Yahoo Boy and that the driver died on the spot

Oyeyemi stated, the command hereby wishes to state that all these narratives are far from the truth as no life was lost and the whole incident has nothing to do with the issue of Yahoo boys.;

While saying the State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, had ordered full scale investigation of the incident, he appealed to the public to always find out the truth before posting information on social media.

He described as the height of insensitivity, efforts by some people to downplay the incident because it happened to an Okada rider.

The Federal Government said litigation won’t stop the inauguration of President-Elect, Bola Tinubu and his vice, Kashim Shettima.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha addressed a news conference in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) stated that the May 29 ceremony remains sacrosanct.

Mustapha said there was a court case after the election of former President Shehu Shagari but the inauguration was held.

Also, during the election of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, there was litigation but we continued with the swearing-in.

The SGF added, It was only former President Goodluck Jonathan that did not take the route of litigation.

Mustapha said the 1999 Constitution and the Electoral Act made provisions on how to go about litigations arising from elections.

The PTC chairman, however, disclosed that a number of Heads of Governments had indicated interest in attending the inauguration.

A section of the ICT Unit of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) was gutted by fire on.

The incident was a result of a power surge at about 8pm, according to Muhammad Sule, Director of Information & Communication.

The inferno, which partially affected the server room, was contained by the men of the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service.

The team of emergency responders, assisted by security men on duty, put the situation under control in about 15 minutes.

The FCTA management assured the residents of Abuja that what happened would not affect daily operations.

Sule said, There is no cause for alarm. The incident will not in any way hinder the smooth operations of the ICT Unit nor any function.

The statement further commended the police and the fire service personnel for successfully suppressing the inferno within a short period.

One person was killed and three others injured in a lone fatal accident in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The accident which occurred on Tuesday at Wariko along Lafiagi road before Gbugbu village, claimed the life of the commercial vehicle driver identified as Mohammed Idris.

Three other injured passengers in the accident were identified as Usman, Bkatachi and Fati, a female.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kwara State command, said the accident which occurred at about 10.30 hours, was due to overspeeding.

The deceased victim was burnt to ashes, the FRSC added.

The road safety corps disclosed that the three injured victims were taken to the Lafiagi General Hospital for treatment by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
